Atomic layer deposition of AlN from AlCl3 using NH3 and Ar/NH3 plasma

The atomic layer deposition (ALD) of AlN from AlCl3 was investigated using a thermal process with NH3 and a plasma-enhanced (PE)ALD process with Ar/NH3 plasma. The growth was limited in the thermal process by the low reactivity of NH3, and impractically long pulses were required to reach saturation. Despite the plasma activation, the growth per cycle in the PEALD process was lower than that in the thermal process (0.4A ° vs 0.7A ° ). However, the plasma process resulted in a lower concentration of impurities in the films compared to the thermal process. Evaluation of plasma antioxidant status after red wine intake

Several studies report that the plasma antioxidant capacity (PAC) increases after a single ingestion of red wine. However, data on the different behaviour of PAC after food intake in subjects of the same sex are still lacking. On the basis of these observations some investigations were undertaken in order to evaluate the effects of red wine intake on PAC in a homogeneous groups of healthy female volunteers (n=18). Introduction: In experimental studies conducted in rats, raising serum uric acid (SUA) levels resulted in stimulation of renin expression. Studies in humans exploring the association of SUA with plasma renin activity (PRA) yielded conflicting results. Moreover, little is known about the relationship between plasma aldosterone concentration (PAC) and SUA. Termiski nepietiekoši apstrādātas meža cūkas gaļas lietošana uzturā ir potenciāls Toxoplasma gondii invāzijas avots cilvēkiem. Zināšanas par T. gondii izplatību un sastopamību meža cūkās, dod iespēju apzināt riskus cilvēku veselībai un izstrādāt profilakses pasākumus stratēģijas. Pētījuma mērķis bija noteikt T. gondii sastopamību meža cūkās Latvijā un sakarības ciešumu starp T. gondii DNS un specifisko pret-T. gondii IgG antivielu klātbūtni meža cūkās.
